Introducing VIBE: The New Creative Writing Club at La Paz

A longtime tradition throughout his teaching career, the creative writing club has followed Mr. Crabtree wherever he goes, providing students a welcoming space to explore their imagination. Meeting every Monday during lunchtime, the group fosters a space where students can share their passions, explore new ideas, express themselves freely, and—most importantly – grow as writers.
Regardless of age, experience, or style, the club strives to provide a platform where students feel seen, heard, and supported. VIBE responds to a growing interest in writing and self-expression, guided by its mission to “create a supportive community where every student feels encouraged to write, imagine, and express their voices.” Its vision centers on helping young writers build storytelling confidence. The core values – Vision, Inspiration, Bravery, and Expression – form the foundation of VIBE.
Each meeting begins with an open discussion. Students share new ideas, and every member has a moment to present their current workshopped stories. The club encourages writers to extend and refine their ideas, bouncing inspiration off one another. Selected pieces are then featured in the La Paz Bulletin, reaching the entire community.
The VIBE Club is just getting started, and whether you’ve been writing for years or you’re just beginning, every student is welcome. They’re always excited to hear new voices. Presentamos VIBE: el nuevo club de escritura creativa de La Paz

Una tradición de larga data a lo largo de su carrera docente, el club de escritura creativa ha acompañado al Sr. Crabtree dondequiera que vaya, brindando a los estudiantes un espacio acogedor para explorar su imaginación. Reuniéndose todos los lunes durante el almuerzo, el grupo fomenta un entorno en el que los estudiantes pueden compartir sus pasiones, explorar nuevas ideas, expresarse libremente y —lo más importante— crecer como escritores.
Independientemente de la edad, la experiencia o el estilo, el club se esfuerza por ofrecer una plataforma donde los estudiantes se sientan vistos, escuchados y apoyados. VIBE responde a un creciente interés por la escritura y la autoexpresión, guiado por su misión de “crear una comunidad de apoyo donde cada estudiante se sienta motivado a escribir, imaginar y expresar su voz”. Su visión se centra en ayudar a jóvenes escritores a desarrollar confianza en la narración. Los valores fundamentales —Visión, Inspiración, Valentía y Expresión— forman la base de VIBE.
Cada reunión comienza con una discusión abierta. Los estudiantes comparten nuevas ideas y cada miembro tiene un momento para presentar sus historias que están siendo trabajadas. El club anima a los escritores a ampliar y perfeccionar sus ideas, intercambiando inspiración entre ellos. Las piezas seleccionadas luego se publican en el La Paz Bulletin, llegando a toda la comunidad.
El Club VIBE apenas está comenzando y, ya sea que lleves años escribiendo o que estés empezando, todos los estudiantes son bienvenidos. Siempre están emocionados de escuchar nuevas voces.
